For the last two days, Jason and I have been traveling the countryside in search of new land, with new opportunities. Leaving with the stress and chaos of our previous journeys, and even our failures, we set out to seek a better future. One that will be full of much more labor, but the fruits of this labor will be ever so sweet. Today, we think we may have found this land. In the shape of a rental house. One with a garage, a double lot, and everything we need to be successful.

Today we made our first landing in a great town, looking at rental homes. We even filled out the application on one to see what happens. We should know within the next couple of days if it’s a go, but I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t. We showed up looking sharp, we checked around the house before the owners got there, and we planned what questions we would ask. Overall, I think it was a very good adventure. I will keep you up to date on where this goes, we are both so excited!! It will be the first time either of us has had a place of our own.

The town we found the rental in, is very nice. It’s not too big, it’ not too small, the crime rate is low, and the people seem really nice. I really hope this works out. We stayed at a hotel while we were there, and OMG was it nice!! It was the cheapest one, under $100, that wasn’t too scary to even park at, lol. We got to our room, and it had a dishwasher, an HD TV, a stove, and it even had silverware, dishes, and pots and pans to cook with. It was the best hotel either of us has ever stayed in, and to think it was the cheapest one. And yes, we did go to 6 different hotels to check for the lowest price. I even got a couple of hours in at the gym while the opportunity was there. But yea, it was really nice and comfy, and OMG to sleep in an actual bed was AMAZING!! The couch has really been starting to KILL my back, so it was nice to sleep a night through in comfort. When, or if, we get this place, the first thing I’m going to have to get is a bed. I think sleeping on the floor would be worse than a couch. Maybe you should send me a $5 donation to go towards me getting a new bed? That would really be awesome!!

BTW, to not take away from the history this day holds, today is Columbus Day: the anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s arrival in the Americas, which occurred on October 12, 1492 (which happens to be the day of the full moon this month, and isn’t even actually today’s date).

So yes, I celebrated Columbus the way it should be celebrated. By discovering my own new land.
