The World Lost An Angel (In Memory of Jamie Hubley)
October 18, 2011 in News & Info by brok1881
After hearing about this boy’s story, and seeing the effects it had on his entire school, and the gay community in general, I felt compelled to do a blog post about it. The headline read “15-year-old Jamie Hubley’s lonely cry for acceptance“. Jamie had a Tumblr blog, and the article quotes some of his more depressing posts. It’s really hard to read, because I remember how hard high school was for so many people, including myself. It hurts so bad to see a young man like this take his own life. It just says to me that too many people let this happen, and they think it’s not their problem. But people, it is your problem. We are a nation. United as one. Humans should stand for humans. Period. It may be time-consuming, it may be painful, or ‘out of the norm’, but you be that voice that can save these people’s lives. If this boy only knew how many people truly loved him for who he was, he would have been the happiest kid in the World.
So my mission for you. Go out and change someone’s life today. Save someone. Go out of your way, if not for just one person. Lend a hand. Ask what you can do. Help your neighbor, shit….go meet your neighbor! This should NOT have happened, and anyone that doesn’t have the balls to stand up to a bully for someone else, should take this as a big kick in the ass.
Save someone’s life.
Rest in peace Jamie.

The world is full of frightened people, like Jamie, straight and gay, unfortunatly, there is not enough Love to go around, we must take the time to tell those we care about, that we love them
very well stated. There is too much “me” in the world, not enough “we”.
