All or Nothing. Tis the Season.

TIS THE SEASON. Everyone at the store, expressing only the most polite gestures. The store clerks so friendly and patient. The relaxing and comfortable time spent with the extended family. This is what the holidays are all about. If your Norman Rockwell or Macys, that is.
In reality, at least for me, it’s the season of anxiety and stress. I guess mostly because I procrastinate. I put everything off, and then do it all at once. Well you can’t do that for the Holidays. I can’t order anything for anyone too late, because I also can’t ship anything out to my family too late. See, Jason and I, found this rental house in the perfect place, it’s about half way between both of our families. But for Christmas, we plan to just stay here, and celebrate Christmas together, here alone. We wanted to invite our family to come check out our place, but we realized that while we bought a lot of nice furniture, we didn’t buy a spare bed or a couch. Can’t say that a spare bed is on my list of things to buy either. So scratch that.
I think we both realize that there is no way we could stay sane, and drive to see both of our families for the Holidays, so instead we are just not going to either. I’m still not sure if it’s the best idea, but it’s what we want. If our family wants to come here, that’s fine, they’ll just have to bring sleeping bags, lol.
Beyond figuring out all the fine details of my travel arrangements, I’ve been pondering what to get my family. I don’t have a lot of money to spend, and I really want to do something from the heart. I was thinking of donating things to charity in their names for the holiday. As awesome as it sounds, somehow, I don’t think they would appreciate that. I guess I just feel that if I’m not going to spend the Holidays with them, that I need to do something more than usual. Maybe that’s just not the case. I’m close to just saying screw them all, and going out to scout out a different family I can help for the holidays. I don’t have much to give, but I think I could find enough stuff to make a few people happy.
I’m sure things will work out like they do every year, I just wish the holidays were as simple and relaxing as Corporate World makes it seem.
In other news, I updated my Wish List. Keep in mind this is a Wish List so some of the things may seem really off the wall or pricey, but I use this list for when I have extra money or someone asks me what I want. Then again, if you wanna get me something from it, I won’t argue.
I also want to remind all of my followers to have a very safe Holiday Season. Please don’t drink and drive. I don’t have many people who visit my site, so I can’t afford to lose you, lol.

You’re the best kid. The dicision to stay home is okay. Yeah your family can come to you, probably easier financially too. Gifts are nice but that really isn’t what it should be about, yet I totally understand the need to get the family something nice. Just do what you can and don’t sweat it. You and Jason go get a hen to roast and enjoy the day. Want to really make a difference give your time to a place that serves a Christmas meal to those that can’t afford it. It will warm your heart! Ok I’m done. LOL. You two be safe in what ever you decide to do. Pet the kitties for me!

This post just continues to show how much you care about people. I think your gift idea is a wonderful one, and it fits with the whole idea of Christmas:- helping others and not thinking of ourselves. You can be sure that I will always be a loyal friend and follower. You continue to show me everyday that you genuinely care about others and respect them for who they are. I’m sure that whatever you decide to gift for Christmas, it will come from the heart. I wish a very Merry Christmas to both you and Jason, and I hope you enjoy your time together. Sometimes it’s nice just to spend some time alone.
Last year I gave out KIVA gift certificates. My family could go to the KIVA website and choose which person to loan their KIVA money to (It’s a micro finance website where you loan money to poor business owners all over the world) and I can’t really say any of them appreciated it, although with enough prodding I finally got them all to loan the money out.
I’ve basically quit buying shit for people. They don’t care, and to be honest, neither do I.
By the way, I’d love to come sleep on your floor.
Jack.
