Can’t really decide between the advantages and disadvantages of the Brief or Boxer? Welcome to the hybrid style, known as the Boxer Brief. The Boxer Brief is a rather new concept since the 1990’s. It provides elements of support with a pouched or V designed frontal area and the looseness and leg length of a boxer. The fly is to the right side as in a brief, with the same type of stylized opening. Although the fly is usually proportionally longer and larger in size, it can be used for its intended purpose, rather than pulling the waist band down when need to take a piss. It does not bunch up or readily give a wedgie, as some boxers do on the back side. Better models and designs of a tapered and trim fit. Some designs use a V front panel and button with a vertical fly. While usually made of cotton jersey, many other fabric choices, colors and prints are available.
Because the crotch area is snugger against the genitals it offers support there and the longer shaped front side will have a nice area for a boner to go. It can be worn with any styled shorts, pants, trousers or jeans. Hence a very popular choice in men’s underwear.
